Bowie knives

James Bowie considered one of Alamo's heroes, gave his name to what has become the popular Bowie knife. Originating in the USA, it is a large knife that was once used by cowboys not only for hunting but also in the battles to control the West.

The historical Bowie knife is a fixed blade fighting knife. While the original design was inspired in the Spanish hunting knives of that time and comes without guards, bowie knives were improved several times and nowadays you cand found several collections ornate with elegant handles and guards.
