Please note: Currently comes with stainless steel guard. It is not made with brass due to a lack of material.
This 26 Magnum is a large knife made of high-quality materials, such as steel and a natural deer handle. In addition, this model has a great history, since it appeared in the movie Seraphim Falls by Pierce Brosnan, the main protagonist of the American blockbuster.
MoVa Steel
The Muela developers have integrated into this 26 Magnum a blade made in Albacete (Spain), which is made of this type of steel modified with molidbene and vanadium, from which its name comes. It has a great hardness thanks to its concentration of vanadium. In addition, its addition of molybdenum provides resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
It is a type of material very similar to 420HC, with stupendous edge-holding and retention conditions. In turn, it is a great steel to use on a daily basis, or in hunting and bushcraft.
Its exact composition is 0.53% carbon, 0.50% manganese, 0.35% silicon, 14.50% chromium, 0.50% molybdenum and 0.18% vanadium, with a hardness from 57-61HRC.
BLADE
The style used by Muela to compose the blade of this 26 Magnum is Clip Point, whose main characteristic is the cut upper part of the tip, which results in a thinner, stronger and better quality end. This knife is useful as a stabbing weapon, as well as a cutting tool.
Additionally, the point is parallel to the center of the knife, increasing control and force when drilling. The straight edge favors a much deeper and cleaner cut, so it can also be used for hunting or bushcraft cuts if desired.
SHEATH
This large knife could be dangerous, which is why the Spanish designers at Muela have integrated a brown leather sheath for safe and comfortable transport of the 26 Magnum. In addition, this sheath includes the manufacturer's logo and a belt adapter.
