This KAI knife sharpener AP-0308 used both diamond and ceramics as abrasive. This makes it perfect when sharpening hard types of steel. With this KAI sharpener you can sharpen knives with a two-sided grind in three phases. From blunt to razor-sharp in no-time!
Three sharpening phases with a unique finish
Pull through knife sharpener with 3 grades of sharpeners suitable for all styles of double sided Japanese knives except flexible ones. Each of the three sharpening slots uses a different sharpening method.
Stage 1 : Diamond sharpener, use for very blunt knives; two small diamond sharpening stones with grain size 270. Relatively coarse and therefore perfect for the first sharpening phase to restore a blunt edge.
Stage 2 : Is the ceramic sharpening wheel with grain 150. A coarser grain than the diamond stones, but with a less aggressive function., use every month on all knives before use.
Stage 3 : Ceramic sharpener, use every day to keep a fine edge on your knives. These have a grain size of 1000 and are, as a result, perfect when polishing the edge.
Practical design
The KAI knife sharpener has a stylish and solid design and is easy to take with you. If you don't use it you can easily store the sharpener in a transparent plastic cover to make sure no dust or dirt can get caught in between the slots. If you use it you take out the sharpener and use the 'casing' as handle, for optimal stability while sharpening.
