It is namely not only great for wood, you can also use it to cut through bones. The saw is compact and lightweight. As such you can easily take it with you. The Outback Edition series is crafted to meet the highest demands of hunters and bushcrafters, being 100% outdoor-proof. Silky has applied a black coating of a unique blend of nickel and tin to the entire blade, including the teeth. This provides long blade life and incredible cutting performance, while the dark, anti-reflective color makes this saw suitable for tactical operations. The composite handle is made with a wood/plastic composition: it feels slightly harder than Silky's usual GOM rubber handle but offers better grip with greasy substances.

The folding Pocketboy Outback Edition saw is perfect for all types of pruning despite its compact size. The blade locks in two different positions with the locking mechanism. It easily unlocks and folds, ensuring that the sharp teeth remain securely covered as they are completely hidden inside the handle. It unfolds easily thanks to the notch in the blade, even when wearing gloves. The hole in the handle provides the option to attach a rope or carabiner to the saw, but it can also be carried inside the rigid transparent case.

What is the difference between this saw and the regular Silky Pocketboy? The saw blade of this Pocketboy Outback Edition is thicker and stronger, making it 100% outdoor proof. The saw blade and the serrations were also enhanced with a black coating of a nickel/tin mix. This extends the life of the saw blade. Also, the colour of the saw blade is dark and non-reflective. As such you are less visible in the dark. Great as you go hunting.

Maintenance:

The blade should be kept clean and stored in a dry place. The resin dissolves with olive oil.

Technique:

The saw is designed to cut on the pull stroke and should never be forcefully pushed forward. Proper use is based on 3 steps: POSITION - PULL - SLIDE FORWARD.
