This version of the Bailout is, without a doubt, another Benchmade home run. The first thing that stands out is the orange handle with its light blue colour accents. It is made from top-quality aluminium. The result is a rock-solid handle. Benchmade enhanced the scales with a diamond pattern for additional grip. But that is not all! Benchmade even added a glassbreaker to the backspacer.
Benchmade selected 3V-steel for the blade. One of the most tough and robust types of steel at the moment. This steel can easily handle heavy-duty use. In addition, it retains its sharpness well and is relatively easy to sharpen. It is also important to know that CPM 3V is not 100% stainless. So make sure to clean the blade after use.
The Bailout family is part of Benchmade's black class line, and it was designed as a tactical knife for first responders and military personnel. This is clear when you look at the blade. The tip is enhanced with a tanto shape, perfect for self-defence and piercing tasks.
The Benchmade Bailout has a slightly shorter deep-carry pocket clip than most models. Less steel means less weight: another detail that was carefully thought through. You can place the clip on either side, making it the perfect knife for both left-handed and right-handed use.
